The danish language
The official language is in Danishrigsdansk or rigsmål (the language of the kingdom). So today the official language increasingly represses dialects – especially in big cities. While most of the Danes spoke a dialect during the middle of the 20th century, today there remain only a few remnants in the official language.
But a dialect became an exception: the “copenhagen” (københavnsk), which even influences the standard language. The Københavnsk is differentiated between:
– Højkøbenhavnsk (the standard copenhagen), spoken on the radios, on television and by the bourgeoisie with school level, and
– Lavkøbenhavnsk (the colloquial copenhagen), spoken mainly by young people – also outside Copenhagen. With age, the Danes have again used rigsdansk.
Consecutive Interpretation
In this mode, the interpreter hears what is said, (writes it down), and only then does he verbally translate what had been said. Consecutive interpretation is more commonly used in court (in marriages, for example), meetings, dinners and events with a limited number of participants. DANISH INTERPRETING SERVICES IN BRASÍLIA
Simultaneous Interpretation
Simultaneous Interpretation is used for large events and requires special equipment.
In this mode of interpretation, the interpreter is in a soundproof booth and, using a microphone, translates to the participants simultaneously. Participants listen to the translation through headphones. DANISH INTERPRETING SERVICES IN BRASÍLIA
